kmfa aRCHIVAL FILE -- Special program: kids recording kids, 2012

Broadcast date: August 26th at 3pm, 2012 — hOST and Producer: Jeffrey Blair

During the summer of 2012, KMFA invited 8th and 9th graders to experience the world of broadcasting and audio production from an insider’s perspective. During our Summer Camp, they enjoyed hands-on learning activities, including microphone technique and on-air broadcasting. Throughout the week, Brian Satterwhite, host and producer of KMFA's program, Film Score Focus, provided a special focus on the art of film scoring. They ended the week by interviewing and recording young musicians from the Austin Classical Guitar Society and Austin Chamber Music Center. The culmination of their creative efforts is "Kids Recording Kids," a one-hour program featuring interviews and live music recorded at KMFA's Studio.

KMFA Summer Camp was sponsored by the Austin Optimist Club.
