CLASSICAL 89.5 KMFA KMFA HONORS PAVAROTTI
Tune in tonight at 6pm for a special broadcast of Luciano Pavarotti: A Performance Today Special
Austin, Texas –As is now widely known, legendary tenor Luciano Pavarotti died early this morning. He was 71 years old. The staff of KMFA quickly took steps to honor his musical legacy and share it with his many fans in Central Texas.
Every hour today KMFA has played and will play at least one selection sung by Pavarotti. Also, at 6 PM, KMFA will feature a one-hour program honoring Pavarotti: Celebrating the Life of Luciano Pavarotti: A Performance Today Special.
"Pavarotti was bigger than life and found the perfect place to display his enormous personality and talent, the opera stage. Known also for his unique collaborations with pop musicians, he managed to make opera readily accessible to a world-wide audience. Not since Enrico Caruso has a singer captured the imagination of so many. He will be missed," says General Manager Jack Allen.
Tune in to KMFA this evening at 6 for Celebrating the life Luciano Pavarotti - offering a look at the life of this operatic superstar, celebrating his amazing voice and charismatic personality through classic recordings, as well as reminiscences from soprano Joan Sutherland and Pavarotti himself.
