Planned Giving is one of the easiest ways to make charitable gifts in your estate plan. Through a will or a living trust you can easily include Planned Giving to the non-profit organizations that are important to you. Currently, KMFA has two endowment funds set up for those who wish to allocate resources for specific purposes.
Charles
Alan Wright FundThe CAW Fund was developed to ensure that KMFA would be endowed for Capital Improvements, future facilities and changing technological needs.
KMFA would not be here today if it were not for the outstanding leadership of Mr. Wright. Charles Alan Wright joined the board of directors during a tumultuous time in KMFA’s history. Wrought with financial burdens, Mr. Wright, a law professor at UT, secured grants and spearheaded campaigns to keep KMFA afloat. Later, Charles Alan Wright became Board Director and led KMFA for over 20 years. A lover of classical music, Mr. Wright enjoyed tremendous success as a lawyer, professor, and later in his life was awarded with the prestigious top 100 most influential lawyers in America by the National Law Journal.
Developed in 2004, the Kent Kennan Society was set up for those who wish to provide a life income gift for the KMFA programming fund. Help ensure KMFA’s Classical music is around for years to come.
Kent Kennan, world-renowned composer, author, and professor was fond of KMFA and involved with the station in many ways. Helping out with KMFA’s pledge drives, manning the phones, and doing anything to help, Mr. Kennan held a strong presence at the station. He was more than just a member; in fact, KMFA and Mr. Kennan were great fans of each other. For his 87th birthday, KMFA aired concerts in his honor. Recently, the KMFA musical library was renamed in his memory to: The KMFA Kent Kennan library.
Wills and Living Trusts - the most common way individuals provide for KMFA in their estate plans.
Charitable Remainder Trusts - a gift planning opportunity that allows you to take cash or an appreciated asset, and convert it into an income for you and an important gift to KMFA
Gift Annuity - a way to create a significant gift to KMFA, which gives you a guaranteed regular income for the rest of your life.
Retirement Plans/Insurance/Real Estate - convenient ways to support KMFA’s future. They may reduce your tax burden as well.
We continue to seek and depend on regular membership contributions from friends, especially new generations of listeners. But in the long run our future will depend, more and more, on special gifts from long-time friends who want to help KMFA become stronger and more stable in the future. This is a way to make a lasting contribution without affecting your current financial security and freedom.
