Far from a dry tale of a neurologist and his patient, Michael Nyman's chamber opera The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat is a study in humanity, love, and the power of music in the face of a baffling medical condition. The opera, based on a case history by Dr. Oliver Sacks, had its first performance in London thirty years ago this week.
