As the fourth annual Fall Into Music Instrument Drive kicks off this Saturday, we thought it would be a good time to check in with a young person who has benefited from a donated instrument. To find out how you can become involved with Fall Into Music, go to www.fallintomusic.org.
Sara Schneider recently sat down with Monica Balleza, a senior at East Austin College Prep, and a recipient of the KMFA violin. In this video, Monica shares what inspires her to keep practicing, the violinist she'd most like to meet, and what kind of personality dwells within the KMFA violin!
About the KMFA Violin
The KMFA violin is a replica of a 1742 Guarneri del Gesu, handcrafted by luthier William Townsend, and donated by the Amati Foundation, which believes that access to exceptional instruments helps to make exceptional musicians. This project is a partnership between KMFA 89.5, The Hispanic Alliance, and Austin Soundwaves.
