The Austin Symphony Orchestra ushers in its 107th season of performances this Friday and Saturday night in the Long Center’s Dell Hall. The program, "Mozart in Paris," is devoted to the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and 20th-century French composer Francis Poulenc. Austin’s own world-renowned pianist Anton Nel joins the orchestra for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 15 in B-flat and the rarely-heard Concert champêtre for harpsichord and orchestra. Also on the program is Mozart’s “Paris Symphony” and music from Poulenc's ballet Les Biches, or The Does.

Two Austin Symphony musicians are kicking off their 25th season with the ASO this season. Double bassist and composer P. Kellach Waddle, a.k.a Kel or Kelly, and harpist Elaine Barber both joined the orchestra for the first time in 1992. They joined Chris Johnson on Rideshare this week to discuss their milestone and this weekend's performances.
