About

Afternoons at Armstrong: Cookies and Culture features engaging lectures with live music programming involving some of Austin’s finest musicians and arts leaders. Each of these events will be held on Sunday afternoons at the Armstrong Community Music School. All programs begin at 3pm with a running time of one hour. Tickets are $20.00.

Our first installment titled Voyage à Paris features an afternoon of French music celebrating the generous donation of an Erard piano built in Paris in 1904. Liz Cass, mezzo-soprano, and Rick Rowley, piano, will perform works by Debussy, Fauré, and Saint-Saëns. Margaret Perry, Executive Director of the Armstrong Community Music School, will talk about the composers' lives and the era of Paris when the piano was made.
