About

Travel the world with us from the AARC as we explore Asian and Asian American culture through the magic of storytelling. Each month will feature a different theme with 2-3 stories followed by a fun activity/craft for you to take home.

On November 17, we are celebrating Adoption Awareness Month by reading three short stories: "Bringing Asha Home" by Uma Krishnawami, " Goyangi Means Cat" by Christine McDonnell and "Red Thread" by Grace Lin. Afterwards, there will be a fun craft your loved ones can take home!

RSVP is recommended for this event. All ages welcome.

November 17th: International Adoption
December 15th: Human Rights

  • Name: Asian American Resource Center
  • In the mid-1990s, a strong desire within the Austin community for an Asian American Resource Center (AARC) emerged. The AARC's mission is to provide public resources, collaborative and educational programming, and a cultural destination that enrich the lives of Austin’s Asian and Asian American community. The vision is to build a resource center that will increase commerce and showcase the best of Asian/Asian American culture, allowing the community to educate, congregate, and celebrate its heritage.
The AARC features nine classrooms, library/computer lab, conference room, assembly hall, and cultural exhibitions/display spaces celebrating all Asian cultures under one roof. Additionally, the center will serve as an economic and educational catalyst for the region.
