The KMFA family was saddened to learn that one of the victims of the package bomb attacks in Austin was 17 year old Draylen Mason, a talented young bassist who performed with Austin Soundwaves, Austin Youth Orchestra, Austin Chamber Music Center, the UT String Project, and at the Interlochen Center for the Arts. He was recently admitted to the Oberlin Conservatory, the University of Texas at Austin, and University of North Texas music schools to study bass performance.

Our thoughts are with Draylen, his family, and everyone affected by this senseless tragedy.

Check back here for updates about events that will honor his memory.
