  • Name: Southwestern University Sarofim School of Fine Arts
  • Southwestern University is Texas’ first institution of higher education and the state's leading undergraduate liberal arts and sciences university. Housed in The Alma Thomas Fine Arts Center, the Sarofim School of Fine Arts at Southwestern has its historical roots in the university’s original School of Music established in 1888 with additions of an art department in 1941 and a theatre department in 1956. In 1999, a generous gift from Fayez Sarofim of Houston inspired the university to name the school in his honor: The Sarofim School of Fine Arts. Students at Sarofim work and collaborate with an exceptional and accomplished arts faculty through a full range of studio, classroom, and performance activities in the departments of Art and Art History, Music, and Theatre.

Sarofim produces a variety of public concerts, fine art openings, and theatre productions throughout the year. For more information, visit www.southwestern.edu/sarofim/
