The Wednesday Morning Music Club (“WMMC”) presents a program Wednesday, May 2nd, at 10 a.m. dedicated to National Music Week, which this year occurs from May 6th through May 13th. The program is WMMC’s annual tribute to the National Federation of Music Clubs with this year’s theme of “Music . . . the Universal Language”. The performance takes place at the Texas Federation of Women’s Clubs Building on San Gabriel. The public is invited and welcomed.

This year’s program includes Piano Trio in C minor, Op. 8, Allegro con fuoco by Frederic Chopin. It is performed by WMMC members Rachel May, violin; Terri Freeland, cello; and Robert Centeno, piano.

WMMC Phyllis Noonan performs the Impromptu, Op. 90, No. 4 by Franz Schubert at the piano.

Fellow WMMC member, Kay Race, piano, presents Ludwig van Beethoven’s Sonata No. 30, Op. 109, Andante molto cantabile ed espressivo.

Übungsstück by Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel and Intermezzo, Op. 116, No. 6 by Johannes Brahms is performed by WMMC member, Lisa Shirah-Hiers on the piano.

Last on the program is a medley of songs; I’ve Got You Under My Skin by Cole Porter, You Make Me Feel So Young by Josef Myrow and Mack Gordon, and A Foggy Day in London Town by George Gershwin performed by WMMC member Jerry Conn, tenor, and his guest, Walter Tibbitts, at the piano.
