Maverick organist Cameron Carpenter makes his debut with the Austin Symphony in two concerts at the Long Center this week. He’ll join the orchestra as soloist in the “Organ Symphony” by Camille Saint-Saëns and the Sinfonia Concertante for organ and orchestra by the Belgian composer and organist Joseph Jongen. Carpenter will perform the concerts on his International Touring organ, marking the second time that instrument has been heard in Austin – Texas Performing Arts presented Carpenter in a recital in 2016 on the debut tour of that instrument. Cameron Carpenter is back in Austin this week and he joined host Chris Johnson at the KMFA studios on Rideshare.
