In celebration of Itzhak Perlman's 70th birthday, the violinist has recorded a new release with long-time friend, pianist Emanuel Ax, and is keeping up a busy performance schedule.

Perlman is the recipient of numerous awards, including several Grammys, Emmys, The National Medal of the Arts, Kennedy Center Honors, and most recently, Presidential Medal of Freedom (this country’s highest civilian honor), bestowed upon him on Tuesday, November 24th by President Obama.

Dianne Donovan had the opportunity to chat with Perlman, one of the world’s most celebrated violinists. Learn about his early years with Dorothy Delay, his favorite moments on stage, and his advice for young players.
