Violinist Anne Akiko Meyers is a former resident of Austin and internationally renowned for her impassioned music-making, technical brilliance, and compelling stage presence. She is the top-selling traditional classical instrumental soloist, and for her 35th album, she commissioned the late Finnish composer Einojuhani Rautavaara to write a piece for her. The resulting work, his Fantasia for Violin and Orchestra, is believed to be his last completed piece.
