About

From the makers of the critically-acclaimed Beerthoven Concert Series comes an innovative approach to learning music: group piano lessons for adult beginners--with adult beverage!

Through its creation of a state-of-the-art, mobile group piano lab, Beerthoven is able to offer these approachable and drinkable classes virtually anywhere with an outlet--including your favorite local breweries! Sip a craft beer during your Kraft piano lesson under the tutelage of Pianist and Music Educator Dr. Joshua Straub.

These classes created lots of buzz during their first exhibition at Lazarus Brewing this past Fall, including favorable write-ups in the Austin American Statesman and the national-level Food and Wine Magazine. Now we're bringing them to not one but TWO locations; Oskar Blues Brewery and Friends and Allies Brewing.

Never touched an instrument before? Fear not--we have just the class for you! Our Level 1 course is brewed to perfection for adult beginners.

Did you take lessons some time ago but need some refreshment? Guess what--our Level 2 course is a great way to build on your musical knowledge and learn some practical piano techniques.

Our 8-week course includes a custom, beer-themed curriculum, quality instruction, and a pint of beer at every 1-hour meeting, all included for only $35 a lesson!

Visit our website at www.Beerthoven.com for full descriptions of the classes and offerings. And act soon--the next round starts January 14th!

Cheers!

  • Our mission is to offer enriching musical experiences through down-to-earth means. A special effort is made at Beerthoven events to make them free of unnecessary rules and formalities to which the audience must adhere. It is our hope that we might serve an audience that has or may develop an appreciation for classical music but would be unlikely to visit a traditional concert hall.
Beerthoven especially celebrates classical song and chamber music (for small ensembles of two or more). Programming is intentionally diverse in tone, instrumentation, and featured performers. Beerthoven supports local artists by offering fair compensation and a unique performance venue.
