Celebrate July 4th All Day with KMFA Classical 89.5

While the skies in Austin will sadly be void of any official fireworks display and the shores of Ladybird Lak will not be crowded with families gathered to enjoy a concert by our Austin Symphony Orchestra, you can still celebrate July 4th all day with KMFA Classical 89.5 as we provide the perfect Independence Day soundtrack.

Wind & Rhythm: Happy Birthday USA (10:00 a.m.)

A birthday celebration for the United States of America. Hear songs from American composers like Morton Gould, Charles Ives, William Schuman, and Randall Thompson, as well as songs from all five of our military branches. And as an added bonus many of the songs will feature writings with some importance in American history. It will be a patriotic bash, right here, at the gathering place for people who love band music.

Dallas Winds Blast From the Past! (2-4:00 p.m.)

Enjoy this special two-hour program filled with 34 years of highlights from prior Star-Spangled Spectacular concerts by the Dallas Winds, the leading professional civilian wind band in the United States.

Independence Day Soundtrack (9:00 p.m.)

Sit back with a slice of warm apple pie or just close your eyes and imagine the skies lighting up with brilliant fireworks as host Jeffrey Blair hosts your Indenpendence Day Soundtrack with music including "The Liberty Fanfare" by John Williams, "Stars and Stripes Forever" by Philip Sousa, Tchaikovsky's firework-friendly "1812 Overture," and more. We'll even supply the cannon!
