Join us for an evening of chamber orchestra music titled “Gone With the Winds” on Thursday, October 10, 2024. Led by ASO Conductor, Peter Bay, this performance promises to captivate and delight audiences with a diverse and dynamic program.
Experience the elegance and wit of W.A. Mozart with selections from The Marriage of Figaro. Revel in the charm of Charles Gounod’s Petite Symphonie, a beautiful and melodious work that highlights the grace of wind instruments. Be mesmerized by Igor Stravinsky’s Octet, a groundbreaking piece that showcases his genius in rhythm and harmony. Finally, immerse yourself in the spirited and delightful "Suite française" by Francis Poulenc, a collection of incredible dances.

- Name: Austin Symphony Orchestra
Founded in 1911, the Austin Symphony Orchestra is Austin’s oldest performing arts group. The ASO offers a complete season of musical and educational programming. Masterworks Series concerts include eight concert pairs running monthly September through May in the state-of-the-art Joe R. & Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts. Our season also features the Sarah & Ernest Butler Pops Series which features 4 concerts also at the Long Center, and the Halloween Children’s Concert for the entire family. James C. Armstrong Youth Educations Programs include ASO Tuneful Tales, Young People’s Concerts, High School Concert Tour and a variety of other school programs.
Recent Musical Transcendence
Symphony Square at 11th and Red River was the original home of the ASO’s administrative offices. This complex of four historic Austin buildings (two of which are owned by the ASO and Waterloo Greenway) is also home to the Women’s Symphony League of Austin.
