About

The Texas State School of Music presents the 2017-2018 Stars At Night Concert Series, featuring acclaimed guest artists from around the world as well as their own world-class faculty artists.

The Series continues on Friday, September 22, at 7:30pm with the second concert of the season, featuring guest artists Low and Lower in the Performing Arts Center Recital Hall, 405 Moon Street.

Cellist Brooks Whitehouse and bassist Paul Sharpe bring artistry, virtuosity, and satire to the duo genre, creating and commissioning works using their instruments and voices, a sense of humor and a touch of theater. They have inspired new works by Joshua Davis, John Allenmeier, Bruce Tippette and Chin-chu Hu. They have performed at the Arizona MusicFest, the Cleveland Institute of Music, and everywhere from coffee houses to correctional facilities. No strangers to interesting performance situations, the duo is currently pitching a reality TV series called, “Extreme Venues.”

This event is open to the public and tickets may be purchased in advance at http://www.txstatepresents.com or at the box office beginning one hour before the show.
Fee-based parking is available in the Edward Gary Street Garage, located on the corner of Edward Gary Street and University Drive.
