This year marks the fifth annual Fast Forward Austin (FFA) Festival. On Saturday, April 25 at the North Door, FFA once again "unleashes eight-hours of beautifully strange music." Founded in 2010 by composers Ian Dicke, Robert Honstein and Steven Snowden, FFA is "dedicated to presenting new and innovative music to the Austin community. Showcasing some of Austin’s most talented musicians, Fast Forward Austin offers an eclectic mix of cutting-edge, genre-bending music that fearlessly straddles the borders of pop, classical, and experimental music. Our main event is an 8-hour marathon festival in the Spring and we curate, organize, and present unique concert experiences throughout the year."

The line up for Saturday includes composer/performer Peter Stopschinski, the New Music Co-Op, and pianist Charlie Magnone. The Fast Forward Orchestra returns for a performance of Phillip Glass’ iconic Glassworks, and vocal group Quince visits from Chicago for a rare performance of Morton Feldman’s hypnotic Three Voices. Also on their show is the LA/NYC experimental noise duo, R WE WHO R WE, and the ReSound duo (from Florida) premiere a new work by Waco based composer Scott McAllister.

Recently, Steven Snowden and Charlie Magnone spoke with Content Director John Clare. They shared more about the history and lineup for Fast Forward Austin, and even played some tunes!

Fast Forward Austin is April 25, 2015 from 4pm to Midnight at The North Door. Find out more here.
