Pianist Jonathan Biss is very active. His Coursera course on Beethoven was just relaunched, the fourth installment of his Beethoven Piano Sonata recordings is out, and he is commissioning five new works for piano and orchestra to compliment the Beethoven Piano Concertos with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra. This is all in addition to his "normal" recital touring, piano masterclasses, and media engagements - like talking to KMFA!

"It really was lucky," Jonathan says about returning to Austin. "The Georgetown Festival asked if I could play Schumann, and it was already in my program!" You can hear from Jonathan on his program selections, these projects, and more in our full interview via the listen link above.

His Georgetown Festival of the Arts performance is Thursday, May 28th at 8pm, and a lecture on Schumann takes place Friday morning at 10am. Biss will be playing:

Berg Sonata Op. 1
Schoenberg Sechs Kleine Klavierstücke, Op. 19
Schumann Waldszenen, Op. 82
Schumann Arabeske in C Major, Op. 18
Beethoven Sonata in F Minor, Op. 57 "Appassionata"
