In honor of Friday the 13th, Night Music is taking a little time to celebrate the music of one of the most provocative composers in the Classical canon, Arnold Schoenberg. Schoenberg is often an intimidating figure, but he was terrified of the number 13. Historians are not sure where his unfounded fear came from, but it is very ironic for a man who was born on September 13, 1874, died on July 13, 1951, and is known for his revolutionary 12 tone technique.
