About

The women of Tapestry Singers present Defying Gravity, a concert exploring our dreams of taking flight. Featuring folk songs, pop music and traditional choral arrangements by noted composers Gwyneth Walker, Ola Gjeilo, Karen Linford Robinson, Stephen Schwartz, Rachel DeVore Fogarty and The Indigo Girls; including lyrics based on the words or writings of Amelia Earhart, Madeline L’Engle, e.e. cummings and Victor Hugo.

Tapestry Singers was founded in 1987. The non-auditioned chorus offers a welcoming atmosphere to all women who love to sing. This project is funded and supported in part by the City of Austin through the Economic Development Department/Cultural Arts Division believing an investment in the Arts is an investment in Austin’s future.
