SOUNDMAP ENSEMBLE: CONCERT 1

SEPTEMBER 10 | 7 P.M. | DRAYLEN MASON MUSIC STUDIO AT KMFA

SoundMap will start off its third season as an ensemble on September 10th at KMFA with works by Tejera, Cleare, Balter, Lim, and Vivier.

SoundMap ensemble is a contemporary music group focused on promoting, developing and producing creative sound projects. We use creative spaces as a way to empower communities by art, by promoting artists, creating new works, developing the concert experience, and building resilient, interconnected communities.

Based in Austin, SoundMap invests in New Music through Performance, Recordings, Commissions and Educational programs. Our programming focuses on the issues of our time, providing opportunities to underrepresented communities and young artists, and connecting local, national and international production. This range of activities impacts the general public, musicians, audiophiles, contemporary artists, and youth. Our goal is through creativity to build a vision of the future.

    Our vision is to provide an internationally renowned contemporary music ensemble, in continuous dialogue with the issues of our time and our communities. SoundMap aims to maintain a sustainable organizational structure, setting the trends of music creation. 

    By offering vibrant and unique year-round programing for our audiences, the organization seeks to develop new spaces of artistic research, including music technology development, and promoting new interdisciplinary practices pairing Opera, Video, or Dance. Visioning the future, SoundMap aims to provide young generations a space to develop new ideas, while providing local and international creatives to connect.
