LA FIESTA DE INDEPENDENCIA DE MÉXICO

¡Celebre la Independencia de México en este evento gratuito y para toda la familia! Este día marca el 214 aniversario de la declaración de Independencia de España por el cura mexicano Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla.

El punto culminante de la noche será cuando el Cónsul General de México Humberto Hernández Haddad dará el Grito de Independencia. El entretenimiento contará con el Ballet Folclórico de Roy Lozano y el Mariachi Capital. El evento incluirá un mercado de artesanos con arte y artesanías de México.

Este proyecto es apoyado en parte por el Departamento de Desarrollo Económico de la Ciudad de Austin. Otros patrocinadores incluyen el Consulado General de México en Austin, la Fundación Downtown Austin Alliance, el Museo Mexic-Arte, el Consejo de Asuntos Mundiales de Austin, Austin Sister Cities International y el periódico El Mundo.

Celebrate Mexican Independence Day at this free and family-friendly event! This day marks the 214th anniversary of the declaration of independence from Spain by the Mexican priest Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla.

The highlight of the evening will be when Consul General of Mexico Humberto Hernández Haddad reenacts the cry for independence. Entertainment will feature the Roy Lozano Ballet Folclórico and Mariachi Capital. The event will include an artisan mercado with art and arts and crafts from México.

This project is supported in part by the City of Austin Economic Development Department. Other partners include the Consulate General of Mexico in Austin, Downtown Austin Alliance Foundation, Mexic-Arte Museum, El Mundo, World Affairs Council of Austin and Austin Sister Cities International.
