Itzhak Perlman with host Sara Schneider and KMFA CEO George Preston.

Itzhak Perlman is one of the world's greatest violinists, and one of the most recognizable classical artists of our time, thanks to numerous TV appearances. His performance on the Ed Sullivan Show at the age of thirteen helped launch his career. More recently he's appeared on Sesame Street, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. He's been awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and performed for Queen Elizabeth II.

Mr. Perlman contracted polio as a young child, and uses a mobility scooter. His experience has made him an outspoken advocate on behalf of people living with disabilities.

Sara Schneider, host of KMFA's Rideshare and Early Music Now, spoke with Mr. Perlman the day before his sold-out performance at the Long Center for the Performing Arts.
