It's an Austin Symphony Orchestra Preview! Here's your opportunity to dig deep into a major work by Gustav Mahler, his Symphony No. 6, "The Tragic". As the Austin Symphony Orchestra prepares for their upcoming performances of this symphony, Artistic Director and Conductor, Maestro Peter Bay, chats with Dianne about the piece and the composer. We'll have musical examples as suggested by Peter Bay and we'll listen to the all of the final movement.
This is the very first time in its 106-year history that the A.S.O. will perform the piece. This is the only work on the upcoming performances, Friday, March 24 and Saturday, March 25th, at The Long Center for the Performing Arts. It will be performed without intermission. For more information:
