To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Concierto Andaluz by Spanish composer Joaquín Rodrigo, the Texas Guitar Quartet will perform the piece with the Austin Civic Orchestra (ACO) during its Golden concert on Saturday, May 13, at Bates Recital Hall. Led by ACO Music Director Lois Ferrari, the orchestra will also play Rodrigo’s Adagio for Wind Orchestra and Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 in honor of that work’s 140th anniversary. T. Join us for a pre-concert art show from 6-7:30 in the lobby featuring works that Austin-area students created while listening to Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 4 as part of the Paint to Music contest.
Admission is free for individuals under the age of 18. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for seniors (65+), members of the military, and college students. Purchase tickets at www.austincivicorchestra.org.
