New hosts

Nathan Langfitt and Carla McElhaney to join KMFA as on-air hosts. May 2017. KMFA Classical.

KMFA announced today that Nathan Langfitt and Carla McElhaney have joined the station as on-air hosts of Sunday Matinee and Night Music, respectively.

As a radio announcer, musician, and arts educator, Nathan Langfitt comes to KMFA with a background in a diverse array of classical music repertoire. "Nathan's work with the performing arts, both in education and as a musician, his experience in classical broadcasting, and his friendly, genuine style make him the perfect fit for Sunday Matinee," says Anthony McSpadden, Director of Broadcasting and Content at KMFA. You can hear Nathan every Sunday from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Carla McElhaney brings to KMFA her multi-faceted experience as the pianist, co-founder, and artistic director of Austin's innovative chamber music and arts collective, REVEL. "One of the first things I noticed about Carla at a Revel performance was her warmth and her ability to really connect with an audience during live performances," says McSpadden. "Her sense of style as well as her musicality put her squarely in the mold of what we think it takes to host our popular Night Music  program."

Carla will host a newly expanded version of Night Music, which can be heard daily from 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. Reverie, which previously aired daily from midnight - 2 a.m., has ceased production.

Carmel O'Donovan, who until April 2017 served as the host of Night Music and Sunday Matinee, has moved on to new pursuits. KMFA wishes Carmel the very best.
