Location, location, location. Age old advice for business, but for classical music?! The Knights have taken this mantra on their latest release, The Ground Beneath Our Feet (Warner Records), as a live concert from the historic Dumbarton Oaks in Washington, D.C.
The program includes the eponymous Stravinsky concerto, music by Bach that inspired Stravinsky, and another double concerto by living composer Steve Reich.
The title track, The Ground Beneath Our Feet (hear it below!) is a collaboration of the orchestra and vocalist Christina Courtin - a fourteen minute jam that incorporates Courtin's song "Fade Away." Those not in the know about "santur" will be delighted by the hammered dulicmer-like instrument in another collaborative work, Siamak Aghaei and Colin Jacobsen's Concerto for Santur, Violin and Orchestra.
The Ground Beneath Our Feet will be released on Tuesday, January 27th, 2015. Listen for it on KMFA! You can find out more on them here: http://www.theknightsnyc.com/
