We've undergone a lot of changes since first opening our doors on West 5th Street in 1998, and many of you have been with us throughout this incredible journey!

In the past 5 years, we've settled into our current location on South Lamar while continuing to improve and grow under the guidance of our Gallery Director, Todd Gresley. Ao5 Gallery is a long overdue update to our name which better reflects our south side style, while still paying homage to our roots.

Our grand reopening event on November 10th will feature a collection of modern masters including Alexander Calder and Joan Miro; as well as special guest John Morse, a contemporary of Keith Haring and Andy Warhol. Morse is a living legend who is still actively making art today. Ao5 Gallery is the only gallery in the world to carry his original creations.

For nearly 20 years, ART on 5th has exhibited a diverse collection of work, from Salvador Dalí to Andy Warhol, and everything in between. The gallery opened on West 5th Street in the spring of 1998. Owner and founder Joe Sigel had been in the art business since the early 1990s and opened the gallery to fill a niche in the contemporary art market that he felt was lacking in Austin at the time. From the beginning, ART on 5th has been committed to representing an eclectic variety of accessible fine art that Austinites are immediately drawn to. ART on 5th is constantly changing their display of featured artists to attract new visitors and keep the gallery fresh. With multiple artists receptions and events each month, even for frequent visitors there is always something new to see or experience.
