TEXAS PERFORMING ARTS PRESENTS

THIRD COAST PERCUSSION WITH MOVEMENT ART IS

METAMORPHOSIS

Saturday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. | McCullough Theatre

Texas Performing Arts continues its 40th Season with the Grammy Award-winning ensemble Third Coast Percussion and the groundbreaking choreography team Movement Art Is. They have joined forces to create an irresistible dance-music mashup that melds the captivating urgency of street dance with a fiery score of percussive invention and other-worldly electronic soundscapes.

Metamorphosis offers a dynamic artistic collaboration by blending street dance and percussion ensemble performance. Choreography by Movement Art Is co-founders Jon Boogz and Lil Buck is featured alongside new music composed by Jlin and Tyondai Braxton and Third Coast Percussion’s acclaimed arrangements of Philip Glass’s Aguas da Amazonia. Movement artists Cameron Murphy and Quentin Robinson join the quartet on stage for the debut of this program, which has been in the making for more than a year.
