FOSTERING HOPE AUSTIN PRESENTS

A FUTURE + A HOPE

ADOPTION AND FOSTER CARE CONFERENCE

Friday, February 25-26, 2022 | First Baptist Church of Georgetown

A Future and A Hope Conference is an adoption and foster conference that has been a part of the Austin community for over a decade.  Learn about foster care, adoption, and trauma-informed care at AFAH 2022.

There will be something for everyone: sessions for exploring foster care and adoption, for post-adoptive families, kinship caregivers, and sessions for those who care about the social issues in our community. Please join as they pull up A Seat at the Kid's Table and learn about building connections with our children and people in our communities.

Fostering Hope Austin is excited to celebrate being back in person by having a special kick-off event on Friday night!

They are thrilled to announce two keynote speakers:

Friday, February 25th - Dr. Clarence Hill Jr.

Dr. Clarence Hill Jr. is the founder and lead visionary for the Stronger Together Movement. He is the Senior Pastor of Antioch Community Church in Norman, Oklahoma. He has been married to Alicia for twenty-two years and has four children ages 18 to 7. Dr. Hill’s work specializes in addressing difficult social issues and areas of conflict (such as family fragmentation and race relations). He speaks across the country on the topic of city transformation, racial harmony, leadership, and compassion.

Saturday, February 26th - Dr. Rosaria Butterfield

Presenter Details

  • Name: 'Fostering Hope Austin
  • In 2006, two local church adoption ministries came together to offer A Future and A Hope Conference to people who were exploring adoption and foster care. They needed help finding out how to foster and adopt. They figured other people did too.

The community of parents and church leaders grew. They started a non-profit to represent this community and collaborated with other organizations and Child Protective Services. The organization continues to offer formal training, consulting and mentoring.

Fostering Hope Austin sees the great potential in working together to change our foster care and adoption system and when applying God’s love and trauma-informed care, we can transform our kids, families, and even relationships with others.
