NATHAN BROWN: THE FIRE PIT SESSIONS

Nathan Brown is an author, singer-songwriter, and award-winning poet living in Wimberley, Texas. He holds a PhD in English and Journalism from the University of Oklahoma. He also served as Poet Laureate for the State of Oklahoma in 2013 and 2014. He has published twenty-five books. Nathan’s Fire pit Sessions are a popular series that incorporates poetry, stories, and music. In 2020, he began a series of videos on Facebook Live called The Fire pit Sessions, as a way for him to share in ‘real-time’ the emotions, concerns, and questions that the participants were expressing in the midst of the pandemic.

• Name: Studio A Piano

Studio A started as a need to create a space that brings individuals together where they can learn, grow and share as musicians.  It is a collaborative environment that brings together different musical genres and a variety of music-making opportunities.  Where did the name come from?  Dr. Scott Donald, the founder and co-owner, started the studio in 2015.  While Dr. Donald was teaching in New Jersey at the New School for Music Study, he had the responsibility of scheduling all the faculty in studios located in a 1740 farmhouse.  All the studios were given a letter name and his favorite studio to teach in was Studio A.  It had wonderful light and a great location in the house.  When it came time to name the new studio, he decided on Studio A.  Our goal is to provide a warm environment for all students of any age, level or ability where they will receive excellent instruction within a collaborative structure.  We bring together years of experience and an understanding of best practices in music instruction.  What makes us unique and innovative is our goal to develop the overall musician by embracing technology, collaboration, a variety of musical genres and cultural music.  As we like to say - "it takes a village" to create amazing.
