La Maleta de Maebelle is a bilingual adaptation of the beloved picture book Maebelle’s Suitcase, by Tricia Tusa. In this world premiere production for multigenerational audiences, Maebelle befriends a bird named Binkle, who can’t fly back to their mutual homeland of Colombia with all the stuff he wants to take with him. Together, they teach one another how to remember and how to let go.
Featuring sophisticated puppetry, environmental themes, and original Colombian music by Kiko Villamizar. Puppetry and performance by Stephanie Vasquez Fonseca and Gricelda Silva, and design by Caroline Reck, Kelli Bland, Anatar Marmol Gagne, Kade Conklin, Connor Hopkins, Rachel Atkinson, and K. Eliot Haynes.
La Maleta de Maebelle es una adaptación bilingüe del querido libro ilustrado Maebelle’s Suitcase escrito por Tricia Tusa. En esta producción de estreno mundial para audiencias multigeneracionales, Maebelle se hace amigo de un pájaro llamado Binkle, que no puede volar de regreso a su tierra natal mutua de Colombia con todas las cosas que quiere llevar consigo. Juntos, se enseñan unos a otros cómo recordar, y cómo dejar ir.
