About
As a part of the Drawing Lines public art project, which pairs an artist with each one of the city’s newly drawn City Council districts to create a place-specific work, Jack Sanders’ installation, Construction Event, explores the contrast between the frenzied building and development pace within District 9 and the area’s many natural amenities and older historic neighborhoods and institutions. The public can visit the free art installation daily on the grounds of the Elisabet Ney Museum (304 E. 44th Street) until November 15.
Sanders’ installation considers how central Austin residents and those who work and visit District 9 experience almost constant moments of interruption, surprise and change.
